09/24/2011 - Munich, Germany (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Bayern Munich's great run of form continued on Saturday at the Allianz Arena as the club won its sixth straight match in the league, topping Bayer Leverkusen, 3-0.
Goals from Thomas Muller and Daniel van Buyten in the first 20 minutes gave the hosts a comfortable lead, while Arjen Robben's late goal put the finishing touches on another impressive victory.
Bayern leads second-place Monchengladbach by two points at the top of the league, while Leverkusen suffered its second straight defeat.
Franck Ribery set up the opener after five minutes when he dashed into the penalty area and squared the ball to Muller for a simple finish from close range.
Van Buyten doubled the lead with a well-taken free kick from 25 yards that left goalkeeper Bernd Leno with no chance, while Leverkusen continued to struggle to get a hold of the match.
The second half saw Bayern continue to maintain control and Robben came off the bench to finish off the scoring in the final minutes.
Monchengladbach 1, Nurnberg 0
Monchengladbach, Germany - Monchengladbach continued its strong form on Saturday by beating Nurnberg, 1-0, with a second-half penalty kick from Filip Daems.
The win is the fourth in five games for Monchengladbach, which remains within two points of leaders Bayern Munich, while Nurnberg lost for the first time in four matches.
Nurnberg's Javier Pinola brought down Marco Reus of Monchengladbach 15 minutes from time, allowing Daems to provide the decisive strike from the penalty spot.
Borussia Dortmund 2, Mainz 1
Mainz, Germany - Borussia Dortmund went on the road to Mainz and came away with a 2-1 victory courtesy of a late goal from Lukasz Piszczek.
Nicolai Muller scored the only goal in the first half for Mainz, but after Ivan Perisic equalized for Dortmund in the 63rd minute, Mainz goalkeeper Heinz Muller punched a free kick from Mario Gotze clear, but only as far as Piszczek, who quickly sent the ball flying past the goalkeeper.
Dortmund had lost its last two games prior to Saturday's win, while Mainz owns four losses from its last five contests.
Schalke 4, Freiburg 2
Gelsenkirchen, Germany - Schalke snapped a brief two-game losing skid with a comfortable 4-2 triumph over Freiburg on Saturday.
Papiss Demba Cisse notched his sixth goal of the campaign after just three minutes for Freiburg, but Jefferson Farfan equalized before halftime for the home side.
Schalke turned on the style in the second half with three goals in the span of 14 minutes as Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Lewis Holtby and Raul each found the back of the net.
Freiburg pulled a goal back through Erik Jendrisek but it couldn't prevent the club from losing for the fifth time in six games.
Wolfsburg 1, Kaiserslautern 0
Wolfsburg, Germany - Wolfsburg grabbed three big points on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Kaiserslautern and did so with 10 men.
Just before halftime Wolfsburg's Sotirios Kyrgiakos was sent off, leaving his team to play the entire second half down a player.
But despite the numerical disadvantage, Ashkan Dejagah managed to score the lone goal of the game shortly after the hour mark, and Wolfsburg was able to hold off the visitors to snap a string of four defeats in five games.
Kaiserslautern has lost three of its last four and owns only one win in seven games this season.
Augsburg 0, Hannover 0
Augsburg, Germany - Augsburg remains the only team in the Bundesliga without a win this season, but the club did pick up a point against Hannover on Saturday with a 0-0 draw.
Hannover had the two best chances of the match as Didier Ya Konan struck the post twice in the second half, but neither side was able to find the decisive goal to win the match.
Augsburg has drawn its last two games after a three-match losing skid, with Hannover losing only once in its last five contests.

With 3,919 passing yards, 32 touchdowns and a mere seven interceptions last season, combined with a powerful South Bend Heisman legacy, odds makers at MySportsbook.com have given Notre Dame senior quarterback Brady Quinn the best Heisman Trophy odds at 5-2.
Quinn isn’t the only big man on campus this season. Oklahoma junior running back and 2004 Heisman runner-up Adrian Peterson, listed at 7-2, rushed for a combined 3,033 yards in his first two years as a college player and will give Quinn a run for his money.
This online sportsbook has also listed Troy Smith, Ohio State senior quarterback, as another strong favorite to win the 72nd Heisman Trophy. A 7-1 bet, Smith threw for 2,282 yards last season and also led the Buckeyes to a convincing 34-20 victory over Quinn and the Fighting Irish in last season’s Fiesta Bowl.
